I wholeheartedly recommend you to try healing with EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques developed by Gary Craig. It could work magic in minutes for both emotional and physical issues. He offered free tutorials in his website: http://www.emofree.com/eft/recipe.html

Part One: How to tap the EFT way
I do not think you need to know the names of the tapping points. The basic nine tapping locations are:
Here is how to tap in details. For the healing of a particular issue, we need to do a few more things in addition to tapping. But for now, lets learn how to tap the 9 meridian points first. Lets start with point 1.
A. Tap on the edge of one hand with the other hand. Three fingers are used. Tap a few times with a force large enough that you can feel and hear some "bum, bum, bum" impacts. If you really need a number to feel assured, then tap six times. Bum, bum, bum; bum, bum, bum. Now tap the next meridian point.
B. Tap meridian points 2, 3, 4, 5 6, 7 and 8 shown above with your thumb, index and middle fingers as shown on the left. Again, tap each of the meridian points a few times. If you want a fix number, tap six times. Bum, bum, bum; bum, bum, bum. I am showing how to tap points 3 and 6 below as examples.
C. The meridian point 7 is just under and close to the end of the collar bone, as shown on the photo on the left. In this photo, I have overlayed an image of a collar bone on her right hand side for your reference. Again, you can tap on either side.
D. For meridian point 9 on the top of our heads, we use all fingers and the thumb for a bigger coverage since we cannot easily know where we are tapping, as shown below.
E. Finally, take two deep and slow breaths.
Please note that you may feel a bit of pain when tapping at points like 4, 8 and 9. It is only natural because those points have never been tapped or even touched with more than a slight force before. Do not worry. Just tap and you will get use to it very soon.
Part Two: How to heal with EFT tapping
You do not have to believe that EFT works for EFT to work for you. Just follow the steps below. It only take minutes! Before we start, let me describe briefly how the whole thing work. Firstly, we would bring our meridian points into extreme imbalance by really bringing the issue that you want to eliminate out by moving the body part in question or thinking of the issue if it is a psychological one. Secondly, we would evaluate the seriousness of this issue. Thirdly, we would tap and take deep breaths to bring the meridian points into balance again. Fourthly, we would evaluate again. Finally, repeat until the issue is all or mostly gone.
Below are the exact steps.
A. Say if you have a chronic pain with a joint, move that joint until the pain surfaces and feel the pain. If you hate eating a certain food, imagine you have a lot of that food right before you and you have to eat it all now.
B. Evaluate how serious the issue is with a scale from 1 to 10. 10 is extremely serious. 1 or 2 is quite mild. Just name a number quickly without the need to compare with any other issue that you may have or had before.
C. Start tapping on point 1. While tapping, say 3 times "Even though I have this pain on my right knee, I completely accept myself" or "Even though I hate eating broccoli, I completely accept myself." You have to be specific with the issue for it to work well. Don't say knee but right knee, don't say vegetables but broccoli. We will eliminate each issue one by one if you have more than one issue. Once you finish the saying, tap the next meridian point.
D. Start tapping on point 2 to 9. While tapping on each of these points, say 2 times "Pain on left knee" or "Hate broccoli." Once you finish the saying, stop the tapping and move on to the next point and do the same. The sequence of tapping points is not important.
E. Take two slow and deep breaths.
F. Evaluate how serious the issue is again with a scale from 1 to 10 by moving the body part with issue or thinking of the problem you want to solve again. 10 is extremely serious. 1 or 2 is quite mild. Compare with the seriousness you checked at step B above. The issue might have completely gone. In this case, a zero and you are done with the healing. If the seriousness numbers dropped but not totally eliminated, say to a new scale of 3 from 7, or 7 from 9, repeat the whole process from A to F again.
Note: Some issues could be eliminated with just a single round of tapping. In those cases, a couple minutes is all it takes. Some issues may need many more rounds. However, expect a EFT healing session to last for 15-30 minutes at the maximum.

How to heal elderly with EFT tapping?
Quite obviously, if the first EFT session does not give good results, an elderly quite likely will not try it again. As you already know, we need to pinpoint an issue to make EFT work well. Elderly very often may refuse to admit that they have issues in the first place! For example, if they stumble along due to weak knees, they may not acknowledge it at all. Asking them what is their weakest point (so as to guide them in an EFT session) directly just might not work.
Doesn't Work: "Your right leg looks weak. What is the problem?" "Tell you what, I have NO problems at all!"
Works Well: "Hey, your right knee seems to be very weak!" "You are wrong, kid! My shank is feeling numb!"
Now guide him with an EFT session, using the exact problem that the elderly has just described to you. It is best to tap for the elderly so that the right tapping force is used. Tapping too lightly by the elderly will not generate as good a result. Again, since an elderly may not give you a second chance, do two rounds of tapping before the first re-evaluation.
