Strain your neck in your sleep and ruin the whole day? This page is about the most effective and efficient way to take care of neck strain. I know well because I was the one who invented this treatment. It takes less than a minute. The only downside about this method is, you cannot do it to yourself.
2. Ask him or her to try turning his or her head very slowly to both sides to see how far he or she could turn without pain. This is an important step so that he or she could appreciate the effectiveness of this treatment. If you skip this step, he or she will feel less happy even though you cured his or her pain just the same. Trust me and do not skip this step because you are trying to make someone happy. Making someone happy is a lot better than just taking the pain away.

3. Note the two acupuncture points in blue on his shoulders as shown on the left picture. Note their positions related to the shoulder blades. You might have to feel the corners of the two shoulder blades over a shirt or something and make your best guess if he or she could not show you his or her bare shoulders.

6. Tell him that you will be pushing his or her back forward briefly and that he or she should not resist. Just sit and relax like normal.
7. Touch the two acupuncture points with the two knuckles of yours and hold your arm out firmly like that shown in step 5 above.
8. Hold your arms still. Push your upper body forward as quick as possible so that the arm and knuckle structure digs right into the two acupuncture points. Move back your arms and body immediately after his or her upper body was pushed forward for about 6 inches or 15 cm. His or her upper body should snap right back to their original sitting position by instinct as you retreat your body and arms.
9. Pushing with your upper body assure that the force is powerful enough and that the forces into the two pressure points are about equal.
10. Ask him or her to try turning his or her neck slowly as in step 2 above and see if this treatment is effective. If the pressure points are correct, this one push alone would be all he or she need. If he or she feels just as bad as before, the pressure points were off. Do not repeat at the same positions. Doing so would just be a waste of time. Re-estimate the pressure point locations and try again. (If you are not a healthcare professional and you failed the second and third time, he or she would probably stand up and walk away!)

Magical! 80% of the people I tried my technique on for the past decade regained 90% of their head movement and their pain were mostly gone in just one push. The remaining 20% of people? They gave up and walked away after my second or third push! Locating the pressure points with their clothes on is not always easy.
(This is interesting. If I were a healthcare professional and they came to me, they would gladly pay me if I can make them feel just a little bit better after half an hour. But since I am not and do it free, all they will give me is one single chance and one minute!)

As a student of Chinese medicine back in 2003, I was trying to find a better way of applying pressure to two acupuncture points at the same time. Since I was in Martial Arts and Qi Cultivation, I did things differently from others. The results? The almost magical healing of neck strain.
